The Chronicles of Heights Lionheart Lodge

Heights Lionheart Lodge #633 has a distinguished 90 year history as a result of the merger between Heights and Lionheart Lodges.

In reality, the history extends back to 1912, when citizens of the newly created Cleveland Heights Village wondered if enough brethren in the area could gather to create a new lodge. Early members contended with deadly Spanish Influenza and World War One.

The history of Heights and Lionheart Lodges are really the history of 20th Century Suburban America. Herein find images and words that evoke a proud lineage, a simpler time, when broad frontiers birthed new paradigms of civic organization and great Masonic Lodges.

Heights Lodge #633 was chartered in 1916 and housed in the historic Heights Masonic Temple Building at Lee and Mayfield. During the mid 80's Heights Lodge sold their building and moved to the Shaker Temple Building. Eventually to merge with...

Lionheart Lodge #673 first met under dispensation in 1921 at Woodward Temple with Master F.S. Harmon. In the 1950's Lionheart moved to the University Heights Masonic Temple and later moved to the Shaker Masonic Temple.

The two lodges merged in 1988 and Heights Lionheart Lodge #633 shortly moved to its present home at the Lyndhurst Masonic Center on Mayfield Road west of Brainard.
